What my therapist taught me when facing a set back.

This is literally some of the best advice I have ever received, and it works (it's like a virtual kick up the arse). Oh, and I have added another download for you - I am a massive believer in sharing what has worked for me.
When You Want Something, the Universe Starts Helping
(Yes, really. No crystals required.)
You’ve probably heard this.... it comes from Paulo Coelho's novel, The Alchemist (which I have not read by the way, but I love the quote):
“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
Which sounds very magical… like the universe has a clipboard, a headset, and a meeting about you scheduled for Tuesday.
But before you imagine stars scrambling and planets rearranging themselves—let’s calm down and talk reality. Because this idea is way less woo-woo and way more “oh… that actually makes sense.”
Wanting Something Changes How You Show Up
(Shocking, I know.)
There’s a massive difference between:
“Yeah, that’d be nice someday” and
“Right. I want this. What now?”
When you really want something, you stop floating and start steering. You pay attention. You take it seriously. You stop waiting for motivation to knock and instead crack the door open yourself.
That’s usually when the “universe” supposedly jumps in. Not with fairy dust. With momentum.
You Suddenly Notice Things You Were Blind to Before
Ever decide you want something specific—new shoes, a car, a life upgrade—and suddenly it’s everywhere?
It didn’t magically appear. You just stopped sleepwalking through life.
Same with goals. Once you’re clear, you start noticing:
Opportunities you would’ve scrolled past
People who randomly know exactly the thing you need
Ideas clicking together like, “Wait… how did I not see this before?”
Feels like
actually awareness putting on its glasses.
The Universe Is a Fan of Action, Not Just Good Vibes
Here’s the bit people leave out because it ruins the aesthetic:
Nothing happens if you don’t move.
You can manifest, journal, visualise, light a candle, whisper affirmations to the moon… but at some point you have to:
Apply
Start
Send the message
Show up awkwardly and slightly unprepared
Once you move, things respond. Confidence builds. You learn faster. One step trips into another.
Suddenly, it feels like things are “flowing.”
Not magic. Just movement.
When Things Go Wrong
(Because of course they do.)
If the universe is helping, why does it still feel like chaos sometimes?
Because not every obstacle is a wall. Some are detours with personality.
That rejection? Probably saved you from nonsense.
That delay? Gave you time to level up.
That failure? Brutal, yes—but wildly educational.
Annoying in the moment. Obvious in hindsight. The universe loves a plot twist.
Belief Is Not Code for “Sit Back and Nap”
Believing things will work out doesn’t mean doing nothing and hoping for vibes to carry you.
It means showing up without assuming you’ll fail.
When you believe your effort matters, you:
Try again
Take chances
Don’t quit just because it got uncomfortable
That mindset alone does half the heavy lifting. Moo-ving on.
How to Actually Live This (Without Becoming a Mystic Hermit)
Try this instead of just liking the quote:
Get clear on what you want (no vague “more stuff” energy)
Take one small, slightly uncomfortable step
Stay open when things don’t go exactly to plan
The universe doesn’t respond to wishful thinking. It responds to people who do things.
Final Thought from Missy Moo 🐮
The universe helping you doesn’t mean life gets easy.It means things start lining up when you do.
When your intentions and actions match, progress stops feeling like a wrestle and starts feeling like a rhythm.
And honestly? That’s usually all the conspiracy you need.
Have a great week.
Love from Missy Moo x
