WTF... is this happening to anyone else and you are too afraid to ask?

Which menopausal symptom have you been most ashamed of?

Not the one you joke about.

The one you haven’t even told your doctor.

The one you quietly Google at 2am before deleting your search history like you’ve committed a crime.

Is it:

  • the brain fog that made you forget words mid-sentence?

  • the rage that scared you because it felt so unlike you?

  • the anxiety that arrived out of nowhere?

  • the loss of libido you can’t explain?

  • the leaking when you laugh or sneeze?

  • the weight gain that made you stop recognising yourself?

  • the exhaustion that no amount of sleep touches?

  • the way your body suddenly feels unfamiliar?

Be honest.

How much shame have you been carrying for symptoms that millions of women are experiencing in silence?

Because this is the part that makes me furious:

Women are taught to feel embarrassed by the very symptoms they were never properly prepared for.

So instead of saying:

“This is happening to me.”

Women say:

“What’s wrong with me?”

Nothing is wrong with you.

Your body is going through one of the biggest hormonal transitions of adult life with catastrophically inadequate education, support, and honesty surrounding it.

And the silence around it?

That’s what creates the shame.

Because once women start talking honestly, you realise something very quickly:

You are not the only one forgetting words.

You are not the only one crying in supermarket car parks.

You are not the only one who suddenly can’t tolerate noise, stress, people, bras, bullshit, or being touched unexpectedly.

You are not the only one grieving the body, brain, energy, or identity you used to have.

And you are definitely not the only woman who has sat in front of a doctor minimising what was really happening because you didn’t want to sound dramatic.

So let’s do something radical this week.

Let’s name the symptom.

Without shame.

Without whispering.

Without apologising for it.

Because there is no judgement here.

Only women finally saying the real version out loud.
